looking in from the comparative sanity of the uk, the USA seems to be descending into the darkness of the middle ages.

Perhaps that is inevitable, given the primitive mindset of those who get themselves elected to public office. Few normal people want that job anyway.

The Roe vs Wade thing seems to be more than a tirade against abortion. It does seem to reflect a deeper fear of the future, where god becaomes the sole source of comfort in troubled times, and must be appeased with a sin free congregation of followers.

Abortion is the easiest way of demonstrating godly belief.
