82 years ago, a man was elected to office who was clearly off his head, those who allowed it to happen said that they would be able to control him. He was a bombastic fool they said.
But of course the madman collected around himself a coterie of sycophants who could be relied upon to admire his new clothes.
Particularly the generals he tasked with controlling his armed forces.
In return power was delegated to them, to undertake such duties as the emperor demanded. They were critical to the following 12 years, because a madman left to his own devices is quickly locked up. Given a gang of equal crazies, his insanity can know few limits.
