I used to think Trump-dictator.

Now I'm not so sure.

Yes, the USA is heading into a dictatorship, but these things never pan out as we imagine.

Putting Trump nd dictator in the same timsframe is perhaps a mistake.

Trump coupld never hold the reins of dictatorship. That's the point. When the USA goes into economic freefall, as it is bound to do, there will be others on hand to grab real power.

I'm talking about the power that stems from the military elite who walk into the senate and simply shut it down.

That is what must eventually happen.

That military elite will be acting in response to a situation where there are tens of millions of unemployes. and tens of millions of homeless people evicted by the capitalist system that preaches 'every man for himself'

the USA will be in a state of uncontrolled physical chaos before the generals make their move.

Civil war? Maybe

Secessions? Almost certainly. There will be nothing to hold the country together.

The seceded chunks of what used to be the USA will themselves become dictatorships. No other form of government will allow them to survive.

Ultimately the USA has a collapsing energy problem, not a collapsing political problem. They will refuse to accept that.

Too inconvenient
